Katherine Parsley is an experienced and effective mediator and arbitrator, assisting parties in the alternative resolution of their disputes since 2019. She is a certified mediator, experienced in multiple party civil cases and complex legal issues. She is additionally certified in Texas to mediate family law cases, and has experience in divorce cases involving protective orders and child custody issues. After years of experience in the courtroom, she is committed to helping parties resolve their disputes through voluntary agreements in mediation.
Katherine Parsley arbitrates cases efficiently and fairly, considering the law and resolving the cases through sound legal judgments. She is certified as a FINRA arbitrator and approved to arbitrate cases in Texas and in other states, including Virginia.
Before being appointed to the bench, Judge Parsley managed a nationally recognized nonprofit organization. As the Executive Director of Crime Stoppers of Houston, she led the largest nonprofit of its kind in the country. Prior to her nonprofit leadership, she was a prosecutor at the Office of the District Attorney, Harris County. She was promoted to Chief Prosecutor and assigned to the Special Crimes Bureau. She prosecuted crimes ranging from offenses against property and persons to drug cases, and from white collar crime to capital murder. Hundreds of jury trials resulted in justice for thousands of victims. In one capital murder case, the jury assessed the death penalty.
